Right to bear arms always exercised in Nye County

A couple of weeks ago, while cruising up Main Street, Highway 160 that is, I occasioned upon a gentleman I hadn't seen in several months. And there he was, just as serene as ever, with his American flag and with the ever-present handgun at his side. "The Flagman" (alias Ray Mallow) is as much a fixture in Pahrump as Saddle West or the Calvada duck pond.

As usual, it was good to see him.

During our conversation he reminded me that it is perfectly legal for him, along with all other citizens of Nye County who haven't had their Second Amendment rights revoked, to travel about the community with a holstered handgun.

And you know that he's so right. Many newcomers to Nye County, Pahrump in particular, are of the opinion that he and others are in violation of some law. A few people have gone so far as to call the sheriff's office to report a breach of a nonexistent law. How wrong they are.

.
They may talk of a "New Order" in the  world, but what they have in mind is only a revival of the oldest and worst tyranny.   No liberty, no religion, no hope.   It is an unholy alliance of power and pelf to dominate and to enslave the human race.

I've been to Pahrump many times and I've seen the gun-guy doing his thing.  I've always wanted to stop and talk to him, but I just haven't gotten around to it.

Pahrump is a pretty neat place when you get to know it, but I fear that it is going to be Californicated if it isn't already.

For anyone who might wander through that area, be sure to stop in at Saddle West.  It is a real friendly little casino and their motel is very nice.
We usually stop by there in the winter; they keep their pool and hot tub real warm.

If you happen to see an old fart ridin a bicycle, it might be me and I'll be packin iron.
