Missing Parts
« on: May 12, 2005, 11:36:41 AM »
Went out to shoot a Mdl 70 Classic Sporter for the first time . The fired rounds were extracted from the chamber but the rounds would not eject from the action.  I removed the bolt  and I could not see the ejector. Removed the barreled action from the stock to see what the problem was.   The new rifle was shipped from the factory with out the ejector ,spring and pin.Now my inspection of any firearm will be longer before I take it out a store. I shipped the rifle to Browning Winchester Service  Arnold MO  yesterday.  Have any of you purchased a new firearm and then found that it had missing parts?

a few years back I bought a new 700 BDL in 7mm.08.  The first shot was hard to extract and I looked in the chamber to find the reamer had scored the chamber to the point that brass expanded into the groves and didn't want to come out.  This defect could be seen clearly without any light or tools.  Apparently no one had looked at it at all.

I UPSed the rifle 0n 5-11-05 to the service center and got it back on 6-1-05. They retuned the rifles orignal box a few days after they recieved it. They returned the rifle in a new box.  They sent a post card with reference numbers so I could see on their web sit  what they were doing with my rifle.  The rifles works now-- Good service -Good turn around time.
