Deer Hunting in Central Missouri ?
« on: April 28, 2005, 04:57:31 AM »
I am moving to Central Missouri, and i would very much like to hunt deer.
I could not do it here in TX because i could not afford the lease, but i hope that it costs less in MO.  I don't care about trophies, just the hunt and the meat.
So, should i hope? Can someone with a teacher/professor salary afford deer hunting in MO?
Thanks. Be safe.

Leases are costly wherever you go in the state...and when you see the influx of out-of-towners coming in by caravan the nite before opening season...you'll understand why they cost...There are many public hunting grounds available...state and federal...but your going to have to start scouting early and often to stay ahead of the pack.. and there are hunting clubs available where your leasing the right to hunt...with other club members...some good...some bad...and cost anywhere from $1000 a season up....when you get settled here in Missouri...PM me and I'll get some more info to ya...
