I found a 450 timber used in Dec. I'm picking it up today. I can't wait to shoot deer,and bear with it this season coming up.I'll have all summer to plink with it.I liked the 45-70 I had in the #1-s so I know I'll like this cartridge.
Has anyone shot anything with this round? deer-bear-rabbit never know  :lol:

Its 450 Marlin not 450 Magnum.

dave hall,

I have taken a number of game animals with my .450 Marlin.  Two Mule Deer bucks and seven Wild Boar have found their way to my freezer because of my .450.  My brother in-law used it to take his last Brown Bear.  The .450 Marlin packs a punch, is easy to reload and will serve you well.  Lawdog

Without trying to rain on anyones parade, I don't understand why you would want a 450 Marlin when Garrett and Buffalo Bore both make ammo in 45/70 that surpass the 450 Marlin in both velocity and energy.  It is way easier to find 45/70 cartridges  just about anywhere in the US and many countries of the world.  Being rimless, they feed more reliably as well.

Where do you find 45-70 rimless ctgs???  My 45-70 is a Model 1886, made in 1891, and takes a rimmed ctg, as does every other 45-70 I have ever owned or shot.
