What brand of Chinese pellet gun is this?
« on: April 23, 2005, 10:15:56 AM »
Bought this at a swap meet today for 20 bucks. Still had the warning sticker on the stock so I am guessing it was new it sure looks like it is. but No brand markings on it. The guy wanted 35 for it and I offered 20 as I did not know what model it was and I have seen some of these fairly cheap in shotgun news.  It has no markings on it at all. Rifled barrel 177 cal and underlever. Stock has a montecarlo look with a cheek piece. Near as I can tell it looks like the Tech Force 34 but the rear sight is a add on to the scope rails instead of infront of the chamber like I see pics on the net. So any ideas? Is this one of the ones you guys are talking about that you can put American Springs in? Jim

Said I never had much use for one, never said I didn't know how to use it.

Don't know the name of it...but it is the one that Harbor Freight sells at all their local yearly sales for 19.95.  So you got taken for a nickel.  They' re definately worth the 20 bucks.  The rifle sights leave something to be desesired, but they have a built in scoperail and can be tweaked to be quite accurate.  One pump...easy and cheap...all you will ever need for backyard plinking.
....make it count

jh45gun,

Go to http://www.cumminstools.com/browse.cfm/4,196.html and see if they look the same to you.  They do me.  I bought one of them around 4 years ago and after lookinmg it over I junked the rifle instead of selling it or getting rid of it.  One thing about those Cumins rifles is there is no safeties. No safety for the underlever to keep it from snapping shut on your fingers while loading pellets thus resulting in a possible loss of fingers(it has happened many times before).  You are going to have to keep a hold of that underlever TIGHTLY during loading so as not to loose a finger or two.  No safety to keep the rifle from firing if the trigger is accidentally touched(which they do with alarming regularity).  These are not the quality rifles you get from Shanghai Air Gun Factory or even those from BAM Industries.  Those Cumins rifles are JUNK, PERIOD.  By the way 4 years ago they only cost $11.95.  Lawdog

Found a cheap replacement tune up kit online

http://www.southsummit.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=629

and a article at http://www.kermitairgunclub.com/airguntips/b3-2/

Wonder if it would be worth it the kit is not that bad in price. as a far as a safety goes a guy could make a trigger block like the SKS's Use. jim

Not in my book they're not.  Price of the rifle, parts and time you put into it you could have bought the much better Tech Force 34 and been money ahead.  Lawdog

Only thing to do!  BUT PLEASE exercise caution when loading it as I would hate to see you have to change your handle from “jh45gun” to “Stumpy”.     Lawdog

Me too since I play guitar       No I load it with one hand on the lever holding it back in place as I load the pellets. I did the restore thing as was mentioned on the chinese web of cleaning it out with wd 40 and then lubing with Slick 50 well I do not have any Slick 50 but used Militech lube and it did help and the groups shoot one ragged hole.   :) at around 15 feet the lengh of my living room as I cannot shoot it out side until I take it somewhere as they have a ordinance in town against shooting them.  :(

It's an Industry Brand airgun.  Looks like you have the B4-2 in .177 cal.
I have the same air rifle in .22 call. By what  I can tell it's a nice little shooter ror the cheap price.  And  $20 is what  I paid for mine
