I'm new to Taurus firearms, but Davidsons is having such a good deal on the 445SS4 (.45 acp, 4" barrel, stainless, ported, revolver)--$330.00--that I felt compelled to order one.
It's for my wife for home defense. I figure that the porting and the ribbed grip will reduce recoil enough to make it comfortable for her.
It's more potent than a .38, yet I anticipate that it won't recoil like a .357. If my wife doesn't like it, then I'll have to shoot it for her!
I've always been intrigued by these .45 acp revolvers. I think it's a great concept, but according to Taurus' website they stopped producing them.
I've heard the good and the bad about Taurus, so I'll have to wait and see how this one turns out. At this price I won't mind if I have to send it back to the factory for a tune up. If it turns out to be a lemon I can probably sell it for what I paid.
