well I recently picked up 6.5X55 Swedish mauser to it out of the stock fitted the stock to it, and floated the barrel it has a butter knife bolt handle on it I put a tasco pronghorn 3X9-40. well it shoots about inch group 3 shot at hundred yards. first two shots almost touching I am going to put a timney trigger in it. I just dissassembled it and cleaned it about a 1 1/2 had been cut off of the barrel. I am pleased with the rifle. so if you want an accurate military rifle get an 1896 long rifle in 6.5X55.

My list consisted of
1.older henry 22 in about 70 precent which I traded for the mauser 130 dollars in the henry.
2. ramline stock I payed 20 bucks for
3. Scope i had laying around i got with a trade
4. rings that were on the scope
5. it was already drilled and tapped incorrectly but we made it work

Total amount invested: 150 Dollars
mauser 1895

:D Not bragging, but I have Remington, winchester, Browning, Mauser, Ruger, Sig Sauer and several other makes...........I love em all, but if I could only have one gun, the others would go, then I would have to really thinks about which one of the Sweds was staying
