Those are interesting articles! specially the first one.

There is a professional cannon maker near me.
I just happoned to find him snooping around this box.

Search    "cannons online"   and find him.

Have to get over there some time to check things out.
He's 15 minutes away.

They do some beautiful casting work!

I bought this golf ball cannon from Dean & Amy @ Gunsmoke and couldn't be happier. It works great, was priced fair, and they were great to deal with. I would order from them again. I bought mine in July & have already put over 5 lbs of powder through it.

I second the Dictator. I have one of their golf ball cannon. Something of a howitzer design on a field carriage. It works great and is very well made. It is sold as a golf ball cannon and I would not shoot lead shot in it but is sure launches those golf balls. It's a darned good deal for the price and they are very pleasant to deal with.

I agree with Steve and Dictator.  I just received the Golfball Field Cannon from Gunsmoke, and am a happy camper....very nice people to deal with.

The downside is they don't have a website at this time so the only place you can see their cannons/morters is at GunsAmerica.  Dean wasn't aware this site so I sent it to him, maybe sometime in the future he will advertise here.

Too dry around here to try it out.

Something I have noticed with this little guy is that when I use a newspaper patch around the golf ball, it hooks tremendously. But when I don't use any patch around the ball, the golf ball flies much straighter.

Mine slices.   :-D

Seriously, I have a hand-held chunk of 4140 to launch golf balls with which is bored tightly, and it does curve off to the left or right much more than those bored with a little more windage.
