Got me a new varmint rifle!
« on: April 25, 2005, 06:09:26 PM »
I traded around, and got a new Remington LVSF in 221 Fireball. I put a 3-9x40 Leupold on it today, and got busy working up a good groundhog load for it. I settled on 50g Balistic Tips, 17.9g of Rel-7, and CCI BR-4 primers. This load is running about 2900 fps, and with the limited accuracy testing I did, seems to be a real tack driving load.

I went ahead, and loaded up 50 rounds of it for a little "wringing out" session in the morning. This rifle should make a dandy little groundhog gun!
