bumbing up

Has anyone done any bumbing up. What I mean is taking a 308 bullet and changing it into a 311 or a 323 caliber.
How about using 308 jackets for 311 or 323 bullets if made from scratch.
What has been your success??

It's standard practice to use jackets made for .308s to be used for calibers up to .323. You will need a core seating punch made for that operation (use of .308 jackets) thou. (Perhaps you can get by with 'standard punches' for the .311/2). A lot depends upon the jacket wall thickness and if the core sits below the jacket's mouth.
