Cast Bullet Loading
« on: May 01, 2005, 04:28:09 AM »
Hi guys,

I was wondering, because there are so many cast bullet makers, it would be rediculous to buy a loading manual for each bullet, so do they include loading recomendations on the box they come in, or do you just have to guess?  I am loading for a 44 mag.

thanks,
vanbuzen9

None that I've seen have load recomendations. Just get a Lyman Cast Bullet manual and it will give you a fine ball park load for any bullet you buy. Just remember that plain based and bevel based bullets need a slower velocity then their gas checked counterparts.

You can also get cowboy and lead loads from the internet from places like accurate powder and hodgdon. May not be the exact bullet but like posted above it gives you an idea where to start.

Here's good data for plain base bullets. For gas checked in the .44 mag you can just use jacketed data.
