Color Case Hardning/BC .45/70
« on: May 01, 2005, 01:57:36 PM »
I own a Pardner in .410, a Sidekick in Wood and recently a BC .45/70. The Color Case Hardining on my Paedner and Sidekick are superb, all over and very deap and complex. Now on my BC, it is spottiy, shows alot of bare metal and not much swirling. Question, would you send it back to NEF to have it done better, keeping in mind, the amount of bare metal is the biggest problem? Thanks-Jack.

Suit yourself.....I have 2 color case hardened frames, a 1990 pardner and the 2004 BC, they both look pretty much the same to me except the BC has a slight edge of irregular plain metal around the perimeter of the frame, appears that is intentional, looks pretty good to me.
Check the one in these pics out, I think it's way worse than yours sounds....

Oh ya man, I see what you meen!! I think this was intentional to have an aged handled and weathered/worn look. Yes, you are right, that is worse than mine, but since this is normal, no worries :-D  :D  Thank you-Jack.
