There was an article in the local paper about bear hunting in NC. There are estimated 4,000 in the NC Mts. and 7,000 on the NC coast.
What surprised me is the size. The record coastal bear was 880lbs shot in 1998. There have been numerous others above 700lbs. It was unclear whether the 880lb bear is a record. Has anyone heard of a larger bear?
