.204 Ruger FL Die Adjustment for an AR
« on: May 11, 2005, 08:09:41 PM »
Going to work up some loads for my .204 Ruger this weekend and I have a question. I played around with my Redding FL sizing die a few days ago and had some trouble figuring how I should set the die. Adjusted according to the instructions I seemed to find the point that the round would chamber nicely with a relatively soft bolt closure. However when I allow the bolt to "slam" I can barely pull the bolt open. I eventually did adjust the die as tight to the shellholder as I could and the round chambers nicely with a soft close but I had the same result when I let it slam, I can barely cycle the bolt back. I usually only neck size for my bolt guns, what am I missing here for FL sizing? Thanks for the help.
