trapping minnows
« on: September 01, 2004, 10:56:28 AM »
A bunch of my family rented a cabin this weekend on a good fishing lake and I’m renting a boat. I’m buying a minnow trap and what’s the best bait I can use? Is there one that attracts minnows but not crawdads? Hope to get some good pics I can post here. :D

I read an article where a fella used beef liver, breadcrumbs, Ivory soap, and fish guts as bait. He said liver was the best, but others were better at targeting specific species. He didn't mention crayfish though. Hope this helps.
If God wanted plastic stocks he would have made plastic trees.

I'm late on this one, but try Friskies fish flavored cat food.  It lasts longer than bread, but you'll still catch a few crawdads.

Dad and I been catching minners to fish with for 30+ ears. Lots of good baits exist but #1 without a doubt is good ole country biscuts. If you don't or cain't make em just get a few stale ones fron KFC. Garonteed to work.

A tip from ole uncle Rick, here in east TN

What is wrong with catching bait and lunch at the same time?
Just another worthless opinion!!
