tjf76 - get that revolver to a gunsmith and have it properly timed. It is not working properly and should your cylinder fail to properly index a round that the firing pin just catches the primer on, you will ahve a detonation that make take the gun apart and part of you with it.
The cylinder is not lining up properly (indexing). This means that one of your chambers is not facing directly down the barrel when the firing pin hits the rim of the cartridge. If the cylinder indexes a bit more and the firning pin connects, your cartridge may only be facing halfway down the barrel when it goes off and you're gonna have a problem.
Get it fixed before you take it back to the range.
I'm willing to be that if you take a long enough wooden dowel or something just about the size of the bore and try to insert it right back to the firewall for every chamber you will see that one of your chambers does not index properly and the dowel will hang up on the chamber mouth. Please get it fixed before you shoot it again. Mikey.
