Favorites fail to fire....

Last year there were reports of the Savage/Stevens model 'favorite 30' failing to fire when the trigger is squeezed, but would fire when the trigger was jerked. I believe the company admitted to the problem or would at least attempt to cure the problem under warranty. The problem revolved around improper lever drilling or firing pin drilling position.
Does anybody know if the factory has recognized and cured the problem with the current production runs.

This is the original article written by me, don't care if they cured the problem as the first Winchester 1885 in .17HMR is due in today and will get two more, one in .17MACH II and a custom in .17 Remington.

Read the article.  Some of the problems were cleaning issues.  If there is a need to work on the trigger/hammer interface the pins can be used with the receiver to mount the parts to the outside of the action.  This allows a direct view of the interface(sear angles).  The Winchester is a lot better rifle but does eat up most of a thousand dollars..  The Favorite is a lot cheaper and will work just fine..
