Does anyone cast out this bullet and would you be willing to sell a few???  I have been trying to find some of these to try them in my 45 auto - I understand they are very accurate and would like to try some.

Thanks.  Mikey.

myronman3:  Yep, it is a Cowboy Action Shooting bullet and I guess (assume) that's what the CAS stands for.  I had seen this bullet in print in the American Handgunner twice before and finally got a handle on what it was.  The bullet was used in an article written by Mike Venturino but he mis-labeled the bullet number and it took me a bit to get a response from him as to what it actually was.  It has a really wide metplat that appears to look about as wide as a 44 mag's swc metplat.  Mikey.

If you are talking about the RCBS 45-230 Cowboy Mold I have one and
could cast you a few bullets to try. I need to do some casting in the next
week or to anyway.

I've got this mold but it's on loan to a buddy and I haven't seen it in a while    It's an excellent bullet in my 1911s as far as feeding goes and accuracy is about average for me. I think of all the readily available designs it would be a pretty good general purpose bullet suitable for targets and loaded right medium game.

KSR - thank you very much.  I am very interested in this bullet and would like to see how it shoots in my 45s.

I very much appreciate your offer and gratefully accept.  Please send me a pm when you are ready to begin casting again so that we can put this together.

Thanks again.  Mikey.

Will do, I hope to try getting some bullets cast up later this week. I will
get ahold of you in a few days and get things set up.

Hello Mikey,
sorry for the long delay, I am just getting over a case of pneumonia.
If you are still needing these bullets give me a shout and I will get
them on the way to you.

I am running a group buy of a Lee six cavity design very similar to this bullet.  The one we are ordering does not have a crimp groove and shoul dbe ideal in the 1911.  See the thread on Cast Boolits if you are interested.  Last date to get your order in is 1 June.  Tony
