Hello,

I have been wondering about buying from gunbroker.com. I know you have to have the gun sent to and FFL dealer, and stuff like that. Has anywone used this sight before? Is it easy to use? How do I find an FFL dealer that I can have guns shipped to? Any help from people who have bought guns form this sight would be great.

I bought through gunsamerica and the deal worked fine. It's mostly a way of getting sellers and buyers together. There is an element of risk because you pay before you get the merchandise. The guy I dealt with was fine.

To get a FFL, call a gun shop and ask them if they will do a transaction like that for you. Most will. Around here the fee is around 30 or 40 dollars.

on gunbroker.com thye have a list of FFL holders you can pull up. you ahv eto look for it but they have it.

I used this service to find a FFL by me when I bought my Encore.

heck if ya look around you will find an ffl holder who will deal w/ 10-20$$ on required items. Note that alot of items do not require an ffl. The only down side I see to G.B. is like all auction sites ,,, you have to believe the "description" of the product... having said that, I have had very good results overall w/ g.b. in fact better than the "other" auction sites.

The problem I have is I can't find anyone who will do it for less than $50 and they want to do a $10 background check in case the ATF has problems......so, the price of the gun, plus shipping and handling....plus fee's.......I'd really have to have a good deal to make out as the price of the gun would be $75 to $100 over the sale price..........Most of the guns I see sold are sold at book value........but with the fee's.......I don't see how I'd break even.......should I want to or have to sell.......

You could always get your own FFL...

I have bought and sold many guns through Gunbroker with no trouble at all. Everything has been as described and so far, I guess, I have described things well since everyone has been happy. The pictures are the key, if your selling, have good pictures, and if you are buying look them over closely.

Check with your local gun club to find an FFL holder that won't rape you. Most gun shops and gunsmiths are in business and they will charge you some extra. In my gun club we have probably 10 to 15 FFL holders and several of them will order things at cost and receive guns at minimal cost. (still have to pay the instant check fee)

You might ask at the meeting or post something in the gun club newsletter. Once you have one set up, just keep them happy and refer everyone you can to them.

i have also bought guns through gun broker. no problems at all. here is the link to the ffl locater. it should tell you what each dealer charges and give you the name of the shop or person.

I have used GunBroker, AuctionArms and Gunsamerica with both my C&RFFL and thru my FFL dealer too with no problems. I have the sellers dealers FFL address on a stamped envelope with a money order for the gun plus shipping so all my dealer does is put a copy of his FFL in the envelope and mail it out. When he recieves the gun he calls me and he makes sure i'm happy before he logs it into his log book then i pay him $30 for the transfer fee which is agreed upon before the gun was ordered. With my C&R guns they come right to me on my C&RFFL there's no dealer involved. You can't beat the $30 fee for a C&RFFL it also allows me to send C&R to C&RFFL holders and modern guns to FFL dealers too. The only thing i can't send is pistols and revolvers in the mail that takes an FFL Dealer. You have to check your state and local laws too.

I've used Gunbroker a few times to buy some items and it has worked fine. Have a money order and FFL ready to send as promptly as you can and the sellers seem to ship just as soon as they get the funds and FFL. The items I bought have been as-advertised. I haven't had any problems with Gunbroker and plan to continue to use it.

I've used Gunbroker, and I've gotten some very good deals. In fact, I just bought a brand new Blackhawk for the best price I've ever seen. The seller included shipping, and my gun shop charges a flat $20 to handle a transfer, so that made the price unbeatable.

I do follow some ground rules to avoid being burned, even if that means missing out on some possible good deals. If the seller has all good feedback, and lots of them, that's a start. If the seller is also an established gun dealer with an address and phone number that you can confirm, combined with positive feedback, you're on very safe ground.
