So what do you think the next hot military surplus buy will be to hit our shores next???

Right now its the yugo sks's(59/66 & 59),  russian mosins and yugo mausers but their soon to dry up.  The surplus market is getting rather boring there's nothing new so what will be the next military surplus gun to start the gold rush?

There are German and Korean sks's?  I think its a matter of time till they hit here but who knows for sure if their comming here too.

How about south america?  There has to be more stuff there somewhere?

The military surplus guns at gun shows are drying up.  There's not much out there right now.  I remember lastyear the tables full of cheap mosins and yugo sks's now there is nothing.  Even though i didn't buy any i like to see the tables full of them for sale that means the market is good.  Do you think were all surplus'ed out already??  If so that means the warehouses are empty in Europe or did the EU stop the export of these goods to the US?                                            BigBill

Bill how can you not include the K31's selling now for under a hundred bucks??? They are a one hell of a deal considering how they are made and shoot and the bore conditions on them. Also considering they only made a half a million of them they have built in collector appeal over the Mosin Nagants and Mausers that were made by the millions.

I wonder if there is any South American stuff left or not> The last stuff imported was not very good quality I think unless they find a lost cache these have pretty much dried up. Jim

jh45gun;  There you go thats what i'm looking for is INPUT and you mentioned the swissmiss k31!!!!!!!  There is plenty of these right now availble from Century Arms along with some britts they have too but remember they won't last long either.  I don't think we will see much of anything new in the future.  I think that internet shopping, gun shows and older collectors giving up their stuff to gun shops is all what we will see as a source to buy from.  I predict much higher prices for lesser condition guns too.  I think even the fair/good condition guns will bring high prices too if you can find them.  Lets face it this sport has grown at a rate that we can't keep track of but we can see these surplus guns drying up at a very high rate thats a clue to whats going on.              BigBill

I have had some unusual great finds lately too from other collectors giving stuff up too so its starting to happen right now.  Some stuff has been rare but still priced affordable too so the shortage of surlups hasn't caught on yet to some people.  I think that most of us have been very lucky to get into this when we did and only time will tell.

My interest now is in ammunition and spare parts for the ones I have!
The cheap ammo will be the next thing to go dry. Get it while you can.
I know there has to be some stock piles of some different military
handguns floating around out there, I really want a .455 Webley.
I have a M1917 S&W in that caliber but I want the real thing.

S.Sumner, That is why I got into reloading for all my rifles and I am getting brass as I can afford it so when the cheap stuff does go away I can still shoot for cheap. Jim

.38 Webley's are ver cheap in Canada right now, friend of mine picked one up for $150 in really nice condition a month back. has less kick then my 22/45 :-D

I did that too I just purchased all the reloading dies for my surplus calibers from MidwayUSA in the Lee brand.  I'm stocking up on new brass, bullets and componets too we have to be ready for when the surplus ammo runs out its then the cost of everything for reloading will skyrocket as the demand increases.  My advise is to buy it now while its still affordable.                                                        BigBill
