Dang Friends get me in trouble
« on: May 21, 2005, 03:02:12 PM »
Got a call from a buddy of mine to go out and thin down the rock chucks at his friends house.  No "big" guns allowed, rimfires only.  I took my trusty 22 lr, he took his new 917VS.  It did not take long for me to realize that in order for me to have a chance, I was going have to beg a turn with his new gun.  I just had to have one, but needed to get the 917VSF just to one up him (by the way my wife did not think this was as good of an idea as I did).  First day out killed about 40 ground squirrels with another friend who said the little 17 was not good for anything, until he shot is a couple dozen times.......last time I talked with him, he was on his way to town to get one.  These dang things are adictive.

One question.  How do you guys clean these things?  I picked up a 17 cal rod, brushes, jags etc.  But do you guys treat is more like a 22 lr that sedom if ever gets cleaned, or like a centerfire which I am religious about keeping spotless??

Thanks
If God did not intend for us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat???

Clean it good when you get first it, clean it frequently during break in, then only clean it when the accuracy drops off.
