First can G2 barrels be used on an older contender frame? Second, I want to build a light recoiling carbine, can anyone point me towards someone who sells carbine stocks/forearms, and barrels?

All the "old" barrels will fit the G2 frame, some of the G2 barrels will fit the "old" frame apparently there are calibers that will work with the stronger G2 frame that are too hot for the "old" frames.
Fox Ridge

sell all things T/C. They do all the T/C factory custom work. Stocks run about $70-$100 and forends are $29-$50 plus shipping. Barrels from 16 1/4 -24 inches are priced $235-$275. There are breaks and sight options that add to that base price.
Cabelas also sells stocks/forends and some barrels in a few calibers, as does Bass Pro. There are about a bazillion after market custom Contender makers out there. They will build you just about anything you want for a price.
