I picked up this new Marlin 1895CB "Cowboy" 45-70 this afternoon. It was between the Guide Gun and the Cowboy, and the classic good looks of the Cowboy won out.

It's got a real smooth action, and a good trigger. It should be a lot of fun.

thats one great looking 45/70.  I love my stainless guide gun but those CBs are darn good looking too.

I wish mine still looked factory new. Oh well, thats what happens when you hunt hard.

I noticed that mine had a pretty decent trigger from the factory also. A receiver or a tang works wonders the long barrel.

Update:

Its a very accurate rifle, and the recoil is not as severe as I was led to believe. I like it A LOT!

I think you will really enjoy the CB. I have one in 38/55 and find that I shoot it more than any other rifle. Even more than my 1895G.
