Thanks to Mike Williams from SW in DePere for bringing in Eric Stanke and Randy Stoddard for a goose hunting seminar.

Eric and Randy covered basic calling skills, decoys, blinds and even hunter ethics.

Found out about this event from lurking on another forum.

Eric took the time after the presentation to show a rank beginner (me) a few things about blowing a short reed goose call. I learned more in those 10 minutes of hands on instruction than 2 months of listening to CD'S from call manufacture's.

I just might put some more geese on the ground this year.

i dont think it is out of line at all.  

my only suggestion is that in the future, when you know of upcoming events in your area,  post info about it in the appropriate forums here.   for example, this event you could have posted in shotgunning, waterfowling, and the wisconsin forum.  

you never know when posting info like that may help a newbie discover a lifelong love.     :wink:

btw, i see your from wisconsin....be sure to stop by the wisconsin forum now and then.    i am looking at putting together an event in the future for folks in our region.    check in now and then for info.
