scope for 10/22

I would like to get a scope for my 10/22.  A fixed 4x value is just fine.  However, I would also like to have the option of a "red-dot" or illuminated reticle as well.  Is there any such scope for a .22LR?  A smaller package is desirable as I am trying to keep weight down.

Heh...I've been thumbing, too. Looking for one for my brand-spanking new 10/22-TAL. What would be perfect is a 3x-9x illuminated reticle.

Any scope you see in the catalogues with an illuminated reticle is what you want, and some of the really nice ones let you switch between red and green. Nikon makes a very expensive one designed for extreme predator rifles that does that. I think I might sell a kidney and get it (like hell).

Right now I'm just using a plain-Jane Tasco 3x-9x. It works okay for competition, but one day I'd like to have a really trick scope to go with the really trick rifle.
