I have had one of these for years. I have only shot it a hand full of times, and I never really cared for the price of the ammo. Other wise it is a fine rifle.

Any-how, I was woundering if any one had something they would trade for it. Im pretty open on trades and Im not looking for any money for it.

The MAG. is gone, it was bought that way. I have never been able to fine one for it. And, the rear sight spring is messed up. It sights fine, but, it will flop around, like if it was turned up side down it would not stay flat.

I hope it is okay that I put this post here. I guessed it would be okay because im not looking for a "sale/money", just a trade. I have pics if any one wants to see them.

Any-one have an old M44 they dont want?

Clips should be available some where and you will never get a 44 Mosin that will shoot like these Swiss guns do. IF it was me I would keep it and fix it up and ammo should be available this summer from Wolf and others. Otherwise I bet you can trade if fast as most folks that like swiss guns would trade a mosin in a min to do so. If I did  not like my two mosins I would be tempted and I just bought a K31. Jim

It's a new thing. The ammo is supposed to be boxer primed and brass cased so it will be reloadable. Also Grafs will have cases available for reloading as well as Hornady and Privi Partisan ammo for the 7.5x55 Swiss.  So reloadable cases and ammo is available now and will be more so with the Wolf ammo. Check with the Swiss board on these guns:
http://www.swissrifles.com. Some one there may know of a place that you can get a clip and the rear sight spring and other parts. Jim

I should clarify when I said clip I should have said mag as they make stripper clips for these as they are military rifles. Anyway Mags have to be around somewhere they may be pricey but even if they cost 50 bucks it would be worth it to get that old rascal all put together right and into a repeater instead of a single shot.
