T/C gun tag mistake at Gander Mtn.
« on: May 13, 2005, 04:15:38 AM »
I stopped in at Gander Mountain in the Salmon Run Mall at Watertown, NY two days ago and looked at several of the guns!  While looking at the T/C 22 LR semi-auto's I noticed an error on the tags (all of them)!
The tags read "Thompson Center Encore Classic, 22LR"!  I pointed this out to one of the guys behind the counter and he said "They are Encore's!
I said no they are not Encores and he got another salesman and he also said yes they are Encores!
By this time, I just said that anyone buying a firearm there had better know exactly what he's buying!

How would you guys respond to something like that?

Easy, ask them to show you a T/C catalog and show them their errors.

I would buy a few of them and put them away. they may turn into a collectors item some day.

Once in hand I would call t/c and tell them of the mistake.

Just be thankful you're smarter than that and move on.
