Why couldn't a muzzle brake be silver sodered on ? instead of threading it on?

Like I said it's a dumb question. :roll:

Silver soldering is how most are put on. KN

Actually most are threaded on, especially sporting models, but soldering is a viable method. I don't have a clue as to why.

Soft solder should work as well. If you get the barrel hotter than the melting point of solder you will have other problems as well.

Silver solder takes too much heat.
