Your old coleman stove, a couple of $2 pots from wal-mart, a dipper, an old spoon to stir, an old muffin pan, and a mold are about all you need to give it a try. The Lee lube and sizers work well and are inexpensive. That way you could see if you like casting without forking over the bucks for a nice setup.
All the fancy casting equipment ain't worth beans if you don't have a source of cheap/free lead. Look and aquire first.
I don't even figure the cost of the bullet when figuring how much it costs to reload a cartridge unless it takes a gas check.
Casting can be time consuming, but if you think about it as just another hobby it won't bother you. Casting is my favorite part of reloading. I love seeing all them purty silver bullets - the Lone Ranger would be impressed. :-)
