I've been doing a lot of mapping of three local WMA's and adding waypoints like crazy. I'm at 113 now. How many do you have?

Gps 76C has 242 waypoints
                    493 Topo Maps
                        2 Routes
                         4 Tracks

Garmin Legend 180+ Waypoints
                         34 Topo Maps
                           4 Tracks
Gps fishfinder.  I have am not sure.  A bunch.

I try to manage my waypoints and other items.  I just deleted a couple of routes and associated waypoints.  I generate a few waypoints and tracks in my playing around.  I'll delete items that I do not plan on using in the future. I will store sets of waypoints on my computer and reloaded them if needed.  I deleted a bunch of waypoints I collected in Montana, Wyoming, and Utah a couple of years ago.  At this point they were just occupying space and I deleted them.

Now that the snow is melting I will start do some pre-season scouting for deer.  I have waypoints and a track for the area of interest stored on my computer.  I can reload those waypoints, I can print a map or do both.  On my scouting trip(s) I will generate new waypoints and tracks on my gps.  Then I must draw a tag for the area.  It is a tough draw.

I need to remove a bunch of waypoints.  The unnessary ones are clutter that may slow me down.
There is a learning process to effectively using a gps.  Do not throw your compass and map away!

Guess I better get cooking. I have 39 waypoints and make sure the uncessary points get removed in order to keep things uncomplicated. I'm going to get a steno pad for a log book so I can keep track of those 39 waypoints. I thought 39 was alot.....good grief. I'm going to have a chat with "Solly" (The ETREX CAMO) to see if he's having insecurity issues with his 39 waypoints. I hope he's O.K.

I used my e-trex legend while traveling.......Lay out my routes and download to the GPS before getting on the air plane......when I got the the rental car I'd boot it up, put my laptop in the seat, and GO TO........

Because of the way I use the device while traveling, I constantly download and upload, Mapsets, routes, and waypoints........It keeps the "clutter" down.......

I keep everything.......so when I get ready to go hunting......I upload the info I need back to the device.......
