Assume the "Bull" barrel is inherently more accurate, but is it noticeable
in typical hunting ranges ???

Neither does the  "Heavy" barrel .

Curious why one would be more accurate than the other. There is no data to support this theory.

barrels tend to "string" shots out farther apart when they heat up. the bull barrel heats up slower and thus is accurate for a longer amount of time. ithe two are probably exactly alike in accuracy to start with.

Bull or taper

Matt has the right answer about heating and stringing.  I have several calibers with whippy tapered barrels and Heavy Bull from the Custom Shop.  Both are deadly accurate if fired slowly.  Shoot 10 shots from the tapered barrel and it will tend to spread hits out a bit.

The size of the barrel diameter has little to do with one shot accuracy.  If there is a difference, it is usually something else affecting the accuracy.
