I have a litter of coyotes about 3/4 ths of a mile N.W. of the house. The pups have been real vocal in the evenings lately and the bitch has been sounding off.My wife has a Rooster that always crows 3 to 6 times after the pups sound off. It's really funny to watch "Sheldon" give those coyotes what for.

Too cool. When I moved out here I couldn't see another house from mine. Now I might as well be in town, no more yotes, fox, deer, just rabbits. I think they call this progress. Guess what I call it?

I have a coyote I raised from a pup. I built a pen for him when he was about 8 mos old and simply couldnt be in the house any longer. It's a lot of fun to listen to him sing his song. Tornado siren blows at noon and 6 p.m. That always makes him tune up. When I walk to the post office he starts howling as soon as I'm out of sight. Every evening at dusk theres quite a harmony. Coyotes all around town start yodling and of course he joins in then too. I get the feeling he enjoys it . Almost forgot, when town dogs start barking often he barks back. Occasionaly interjecting a short howl but mostly barking. BTW he hates dogs. Had a female about 40 pounds show up a couple weeks ago. I think she was a stray. She put her nose into his pen. He grabbed it biting hard and pulled backwards. When he let go she was bleeding pretty good. Id seen him do that to male dogs but this was the first female I saw sniff at him. He just don't like dogs.
