Not every cartridge has to be a Max-durn-thing to be useful. In my world anyway there's a place for an accurate(has to be that) relatively quiet, reloadable round that can be carried during that part of the season when you can shoot just about anything except big game. Right now I use a 22 Hornet loaded with 46 gr FP's at 1500 fps for that sort of "pot luck" rifle, but wouldn't mind a 32 Mag or 32 S&W Long, or 32-20, 25-20. There was a time when such calibers, at least the last two, were used quite a bit for larger game, and in some states(such as PA) are still legal. Thankfully, many now use more "humane" calibers, but these cartridges still have that ability if need be; at least a close range. Frankly, the 38 spcl/357 Mag/Max bore me some, since my pistol caliber is 44 Mag(and 44 spcl), but other folks swear by them. Nothin' wrong with a little diversity in life.
