A ? about reddot sights...
« on: June 03, 2005, 03:23:51 AM »
I am considering checking out a Burris 1 X 35 Speeddot
sight and was wondering if this type of sight will stand up
to the recoil of a 50 cal. muzzleloader.Do these type of
sights work well for close range shooting?Any opinions
on these types of sights welcome.Any others to be considered
in about the same price range? Thanks for any info,
Gary

I can't say which dot type sights will hold up to your muzzle loader. I will say a 4 MOA dot or smaller is what you will probably like best for hunting. If the dot looks fuzzy try putting your glasses on of if you don't wear them (yet) you may want to get your eyes checked. I was amazed how fast my optometrist fixed my dot sight.    I was about to send my sight back and I started wearing glasses and my sight was repaired while still mounted to the firearm. Now that's service.

which looks good for hunting.Just wondering how durable
these things are.

I have a Ultra Dot on my 500 MAG and I think the recoil is a lot more than a muzzleloader. You might want to consider one of them. But, I am sure the Burris 1 X 35 Speeddot will work. :D
