Any interest in a heavy 41 caliber jacketed bullet?

Would there be any interest in heavyweight 41 caliber jacketed bullets?
Perhaps a 240gr softpoint, 240gr hollowpoint? 250gr bullets, maybe 265 or 270 grainers.

I guess the big question is what is on the wish list for heavy 41 jacketed bullets? Please let me know what you wish were available.

i shoot winchester sup. gold hps ther 250 an for my 41 mag ruger super black hawk along with ther 175 silver hps i love them both an wish i could buy them in bulk bullets at 15 an 19$ per 20 is very bad in my opion

Perhaps a 250gr. JHP that's bonded. Jacket thickness of maybe .030 so it expands at maybe 1300fps. If not, maybe a bonded bullet could go with a jacket thickness of .025.  This would be for large, heavy big game critters. I think there's plenty of choices now for deer-sized big game.  :idea:

a 250 gr and a 275 gr that would expand reliably at 1200-1300 fps.

Well Jim, I used to work at Nosler. I was the tooling engineer for 6 years. I drew and or designed virtually every piece of tooling in the place.
I also spent about 1 1/2 years as a customer service technician, helping people with all kinds of reloading, bullet selection, bullet performance and any other questions they might have.

I just got a swaging outfit in 41 caliber and I am trying to find out if there is any kind of a market for heavy 41 jacketed bullets.

My brother and I were talking about this earlier this evening. He shoots the .41, and just picked up a Redhawk .41 with the factory barrel scope rings to add to his .41 stable. He was saying he wish some one had a 240-250 grain HP bullet available to load for whitetail. :D

Well Jim,
I'm going to start with the 41's in 240gr HP and SP. Production will begin next week. Then I'll see about others. I am going to concentrate on things that everyone else does not make. I don't know about the 45's because there is a pretty good selection of them out there.

I think if there had been good or any for that matter 240g-jacketed .410 bullets when I started I would have never switched to
250g-hardcast lead. I always liked the 210g-jacketed stuff but always felt it left something to be desired when used on BIG piggies and exotic goats and sheep. These animals go 350-450 pounds and take lots of killing. Always wished for a heavier bullet. I’ll be watching and waiting to see what you come up with.

:cb2: I'm new to .41s, haven't hunted with one yet, but I'm interested in any and all things about them. Sure got a lot to learn, and GBO is a great place for doing that! Saving up for a FA83 in .41 to go with my M57. Seems like .41s are making a comeback. Bigger isn't always better!  :eek:

This would be a good thing, you betcha!

I would be very interested in the 240 grain softpoints.  Likewise, anything heavier would be of interest as well.

The title of your post puzzles me. Are you suggesting that the .41 Mag needs heavier bullets? I've owned three, no big amount, and have never needed anything not currently available? Maybe my needs are different from yours?

I am very much interested in a 240 gr jacketed flat point bullet. Some thing with a wide meplat to hunt with. Its a shame that there is not more inerest in the 41 as a hunting round. In my opinion the 41 with a 240 gr bullet would be the ideal hunting weapon. Joe if you Do this venture keep me in mind, Because i would like to try some of your bullets. I would be interested in 265 to 300 gn. bullets, but I`m looking for .411 dia. bullets, not .410.`I can push 300 gn. bullets to nearly 2,700 fps. I will be interested in what you think of your new toy weather you make bullets I can shoot or not. Keep us posted.

I think maybe Catfish is running a 411 Hawk. That is about the only thing I can think of that would be that fast and use a 411 bullet.

S.B. I am suggesting that there would indeed be a use for bullets heavier than are currently offered for the 41. I was wondering if anyone might be interested in a 240 JFN, 240 JHP, 250 JFN, or a 250JHP or even heavier, maybe 270 or 300gr. bullets.

I am just trying to find out what people would like to have available.

Yea, I have a .411 Hawk. I haven`t had a chance to use it on any game yet, but maybe this winter. I`ve got some hard casr gas checked bullets that I would like to try on Elk or Moose.

I'd be interested in 240gr - 250gr jacketed bullets for the 41 mag. I shoot a Redhawk & a Blackhawk in that caliber. They shoot Hornady's 210 XTP fairly well and have been experimenting with the CP 250gr lead GC bullets. I would think that the price per hundred would have to be in the Hornady range and less than the CP lead.
