GLOCK 23
« on: February 08, 2003, 08:56:23 AM »
WELL GUYS I FINALLY GOT TO THE RANGE TODAY TO SHOOT MY NEW G23.  AND NO THEY DID'NT PLOW OUT THE RANGE SO I HAD TO TRUCK 150 YARDS THROUGH KNEE DEEP SNOW TO GET TO THE TARGET AREA.
MY FIRST 10 ROUND GROUP DID'NT GO TOO BAD AT 10 YARDS. IT WAS 5 3/4" BUT I WAS STILL HUFFING A LITTLE FROM MY WALK THROUGH THAT HALF FROZEN SNOW.
MY SECOND GROUP OF 10 WAS A LOT BETTER.  I GOT MY BREATHING UNDER CONTROL AND PUT 10 WITHIN 2 1/2" OFF HAND AT THE SAME DISTANCE.
MY LAST GROUP WAS SOME FAST 2 SHOT STRINGS AND I KEPT THEM WITHIN 5 1/4" AT THE SAME DISTANCE,AND I HAVE TO SAY THAT I WAS VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE WAY THIS PISTOL HANDLED.  THE RECOIL WAS NOT BAD AS I THOUGHT IT WOULD BE OUT OF THIS LIGHT PISTOL.  THE AMMO CYCLED FLAWLESSY AND THE ACCURACY WAS BETTER THAN I WAS ABLE TO DO WITH MY SMITH MODEL 696 .357  SO I GUESS I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT IM NOW HOOKED ON THE GLOCK.
MY WIFE IS NOW IN THE PROCESS OF GETTING HER CW PERMIT AND SHES BEEN EYEING MY G23.  SO I THINK THAT IF MINE IS TO SNAPPY FOR HER SHE WILL WIND UP GETTING THE G 19.  IF NOT SHE IS GOING TO HAVE TO GET HER OWN G23 BECAUSE THIS ONE IS MINE LOL

THANKS AGAIN FOR ALL YOUR INPUT

Hi...new guy here....and also a G23 owner.  I bought mine in '93, while I was living in WA state and have been in love with it ever since.  It's of course, the pre-ban model...13 rd clips and the non-groved grip.  It has been a trusted companion on many camping, fishing, and hinting trips....and has never failed me once, not even a single jam.  I spent lots of time in the outdoors while in WA state, and throughout all the rain, snow, dust and sand, and the very worst that Mother Nature could dish out, my G23 performed without flaw.  It will be one handgun that I will own for a long time to come.
