Has anyone shot 7,62x51 ammo in a .308 nef? any problems?
Does nef say not to do so?
I was thinking about purchasing some South African .308. It's listed as .308 win, but I think it's .308 NATO or 7,62x51. I'm confused.

Read your owners manual and if you dont have one call nef and they will send one out to you, The manual states not to use surplus ammo in any caliber . The problems you may have would be with ejection. Due to higher pressures the shells may not eject and i believe with some calibers cartridge dimentions may differ causing the same problem.

I had a Ultra 308 in which I had ejection issues with all types of commercial and mil-sup ammo. Now that H&R are fitting mechanical extractors, I might try again. The 308 Win is one of my favorite calibers.
