Confirm Bolton, Gun Rights Group Urges Senate

U.S. Newswire -- "We urge the United States Senate to confirm promptly the nomination of John R. Bolton as United States Ambassador to the United Nations," John Michael Snyder, Public Affairs Director of the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms (CCRKBA), stated here today.

Snyder said that "one of the greatest threats today to the traditional, individual American Second Amendment civil right to keep and bear arms is that posed by gun-grabbing internationalists who are attempting the use the United Nations to undermine our freedoms. The United Nations Firearms Protocol, adopted four years ago, along with the International Action Network on Small Arms, are vehicles gun grabbers are using to require UN member states, including the United States, to regulate according to UN specifications the manufacture, export, import and transit of firearms, firearms parts and components, and ammunition.

"As American citizens, we resent, deplore and condemn UN attempts to subvert the United States Constitution. In 1991, as Undersecretary of State for Arms Control and International Security, Bolton told the UN Conference on Illicit Trade in Small Arms and Light Weapons in All Its Aspects that 'the United States will not join consensus on a final document that contains measures abrogating the Constitutional right to bear arms.' We named Undersecretary Bolton the CCRKBA Gun Rights Defender of the Month for September of 1991."

CCRKBA "commends President George W. Bush for nominating John Bolton to the United Nations," Snyder added. "For us, this is a good Second Amendment nomination, as we think John Bolton will have the guts, determination and ability to stand up in New York for the gun rights of law-abiding Americans against the anti-gun globalists who would like to remake our country to suit one-world wannabes."

Snyder said, "it is a shame the Senate has been dragging its feet for so long on this nomination. If Minority Leader Harry Reid of Nevada thinks he's going to keep his pro-gun credentials while holding up the Bolton nomination, he's got another thought coming. The gun owners of America need John Bolton at the United Nations. Who cares what a political plagiarist from Delaware or a Sandinista chick chaser from Connecticut or a crybaby from Ohio have to say? It's time for the Senate to stand up for America!"

They may talk of a "New Order" in the  world, but what they have in mind is only a revival of the oldest and worst tyranny.   No liberty, no religion, no hope.   It is an unholy alliance of power and pelf to dominate and to enslave the human race.
