Can the barrel hinge pin be removed? If so how?

Yes it can be removed, but it is pressed in real tight I used a arbor press to get mine out, it is also knurled, i think, on both ends, when reinstalling just line it back up with the original marks that are scored in the frame.

Be careful. I believe the hinge pin can be removed in one direction only. This is discussed elsewhere in GBO.
