When I bought the 22 hornet barrel from him in March???, the reason he said he was selling it was cuz he was extremely busy, too busy to fit it, that might have a lot to do with his absents, I spose...hope that's all it is. :?

I can't recall anything that happened with fred m. but he posted a thread......i think it was called "to whom it may concern" if you wanna do a search for it. But i don't remember any arguements or anything that happened b/t him and another member. It was like it came out of the blue basically "i'm leaving if you need me look at my site"...................don't really know............

I think Fred M got a little POd when he had to eat crow too many times after making statements that were less than accurate. One of em was that 204 Rugers didn't shoot well, I think that was the beginning of the end.....this time, he left at least one other time under the same circumstances.

Had to come back with that new name.

I will ignore that name, never hated the Handi, I like all guns as long as they are accurate. That leaves out all the  of the Handies I had anything to do with. Even that 257R developed a four thou gap and with that acuracy vanished. As far as eating crow, since you guys keep bringing it up, I did not have to.

If you measure the volume of several available brands of 204 brass and  some converted brass and cut some of them in halve you mayl get the idea.

Have a good day.

Fred:

Glad to hear from you again. Still waiting for you to come thru Great Falls again so I can buy you that cup of coffee.
Your friend didn't have the reamers for 303 Brit, so I'm still working on that project. Sorry to hear about the 257R. I know you put a heck of lot work in it.

Take care..Wally

Wally.
You will have to wait till next winter. No big deal about the 257R. It is just another mediocre Handi now. notwithatnding an exelent barrel. But when I have some time I will make a new 1/16" larger hinge pin and mill a new seat, which I will surface harden.

All my life I dealt with people that were a lot smarter than me, that never bothered me. Bob that is simply the way it is.

Recently I was told I was too smart for my own good, what a dumb thing to say. Knowledge make life a lot better. So how could you be too smart?
Nowadays you can't even find a job as a truck driver unless you have a hight school degree.

Bob if you don't know, just ask. Very few people will turn you down. I am glad I could help you. The lord says seek and you shall find and that goes for knowledge.

For what it is worth.......what I have not learned from you, it has at least peaked my interest enough to do my own research.

A little clarification for the post above.

I am the only one in my immediate family that has even a passing interest in firearms, the shooting sports or hunting. It seems many of the other posters/members here have a family history  in these things.

The above post means you that post info, advice and  encouragement to those of us that are in need of a bit of guidance. It seems we are a bit of  a family as mentioned above by someone else.

A squabble here a joke there, even a misunderstanding... Just like a family.

A thank you to all.

I would consider y'all a part of my family. It's only me and my cousin that are really into the shooting sports. I really appreciate y'alls advice.
