Hood River here, checking in. Oregon is one of the best hunting, fishing hiking, skiing, windsurfing etc states in the country. Most of the population is packed into small areas...but there are wilderness areas in Oregon where you could spend weeks without bumping into another human. Where I live, I can go from Snow on the mountain to Winsurfing on the river in an hour, drive out to the coast in 2&1/2 hours, 1 hour to Portland, or 20 minutes to the desert or rolling hills of wheat stretching as far as the eye can see.
