Lead plug in synthetic stock?

I've tried finding an answer in searching but no luck.  Is there some type of weight in the synthetic stocks that can be removed?  If so how hard is it to remove and will the stock still be strong enough for recoil of say a .270?  I like the looks of synthetic but they seem heavier than the wooden stocked rifles.  This will be my first single shot and I like the thought of a light and simple rifle for hunting deer.

Sure, just remove the 2 recoil pad screws and the recoil pad, the steel bar is inside the stock packed in foam blocks.....
