Picked up a new SKS today.

I picked up a Norinco SKS today. It is the one with the spike bayo, so, I know it was made in the later 60s or early 70s. It is totaly mint, it looks untouched. It came with a sling and cleaning kit. Even though it is smaller then my Yugo, it is heaver. It shoots pretty dang good to. It also looks to be made with better quality then the Yugos, I know the stocks are better on the Norinco. Any-how it will look nice next to my Norinco AK-47s.

I also like the longer sight radius on the Norinco vs. the Yugo. There both fine rifles though.

Some sks owners may disagree but the Chinese Norinco passed the russians with their sks in quality.  For some reason the chinese focused on making it better as they manufactured them.  I believe the chinese produced them the longest too.                             BB

I'm not sure how some of the newer ones in Canada look but i have heard they put a screwed in spacer in the threaded barreled recievers to adapt the pinned barrels and in time the weak pin gave way and the barrel became loose.  I heard the serial number starts with 04xxxx in the newer Canada sks's.
