I would really like to get sub .5", 5 round groups at 100 yds.
My dad's Remington .308(which I've been hunting with for over 10 yrs) did that as the rule, not the exception. I'm really looking for that. Also, I've never had a deer run on me after shooting it with that rifle. Granted that's more to the credit of the round than the rifle. 150 gr CoreLokt Soft pt remingtons.
Flip side of that, my dad hunted for 5-6 years with a Remington .270 that, produced consistent sub 1" groups. But my dad had a horrible time with deer running after being shot with the .270.
I guess I'm already kind of biased. But I'm wondering what other people's experiences have found.
