Anyone cast their own and where's the best place online to purchase the molds?  I've seen the ones at Cabela's.

thanks,

I got a 3 oz fishing weight mold from Cabelas.  In fact, I started molding those before I even got into bullet casting (which wasn't really that long ago).  Since I'd never melted lead, poured lead, or molded lead, it was good practice for bullet casting.  Kinda gave me the feel for how it would go.

BassProShops used to have a real good selection. Likely still do. Check them out. Long years ago I used to get a catalog from an outfit called Net Craft. They sold all kinds of fishing supplies and had an especially wide selection of lure making supplies to include molds. You might google them and see if they are still around.

I think the one Graybeard is talking about is now called Jann's Net craft.
Heres their link:   www.jannsnetcraft.com

Hope this helps.  :D  I beleive they also have a free catalog. I seem to get a new one every year.

I've come to the conclusion that I can buy a lot of weights for the $30-$35 that a new mold costs.

Someone has PM'd me and said that he has some that he isn't using anymore.  Maybe that'll work out. If it doesn't, I think I'll post down in the classifieds for a used one.

thanks all,
Ian
