WRONG bullet for pigs.

While on a pig hunt this weekend in Monterey I saw the results of using a ballistic tip bullet on pigs (and I think it could be generalized to all medium and big game animals).  The bullet entered the rib cage on the right side and apparently blew up on the inside, destroying WAY too much meat in my way of thinking.  It also left NASTY entrance wound that pretty much ruined the chance of getting any pork ribs off the right side of the hog.  Sure, it killed the pig but the price in ruined meat was just too much.  BTW, the bullet was a Winchester 150 gr. Ballistic Silver Tip launched from a 300 WSM.

I have seen the entrance wound be nasty with no internal penetration.   Great for the right situation, but not at close range with high velocity.
When it goes wrong, the game can suffer and escape.

Funny, I have also see it sail perfectly through the lungs and make instantaneous head shot kills.  

Give me a core-lokt for pigs.   Cheap and effective.
