Hello all,

I am looking at getting a TI Tracker in 357 however I have heard some very good arguments for the 41. I am a little worried about the recoil of the 41 as I don't shoot a pistol all that much and it is very light. so anyone who has the 41 in the tracker how is it? I am still leaning towards the 357 seems a little more useful in the roll I plan on "general purpose woods pistol" and I have 7 rounds vs 5 rounds. just looking for some feedback to help me on this guys!!

I have a tracker in 45lc and have shot the 41 , recoil is about the same on both. that said , for a general woods gun i would go with the 357 mag. provided your not going into big bear country and go with the 4in. brl.

I love the .41 (though I don't have the taurus yet), but if you plan on shooting it alot but don't plan on handloading for it stick with the 357. .41s will run you $23-$27 a box for lead (50) more for jacketed. I don't consier the 41 stiff but you being somewhat of a novice to handgunning it sounds like the 357 would be a better choice.

Hi there!

I have the .41 Mag Titaium tracker, 4" bbl revolver and I love it. I have shot about 800 rounds with it so far and the gun still as solid as when I bought it. The 210 gr factory loads are a handfull to shoot. I had rather decided to shoot low velocity 210 gr with it and things are great. I don't like any more the ported bbl. I would prefer one without it; but Taurus does not make on without ports in Ti. What I love the most is its weight. Only 24 Oz. The accuracy with the high velocities is the best. The low velocity that I use now and it has medium accuracy is the Bullseye but I will continue to find the better load.

Bullets for the .41 are not everywhere. For that, I may have to buy the Taurus 357 mag Ti (7-shooter) to have more shooting practice at a less cost. I will keep my .41 mag though.

LJ--- i know what you mean about bullets for the 41 , i have had some on back order for my S&W for over 4 weeks now hopefully they will come in this week

IMO the recoil from the 41 is just silghtly above the 357. I would go wih the 41 in that case.
Ammo-wise the 357 has more choices and better availability.
If you cant stop something with 5 shot's of 41, you aint gonna stop it with 7 shot's of 357..... Either would be a good choice, I lean towards the 41, but thats because I generally believe bigger is better when it comes to firearms......

For your needs "general purpose woods pistol" the 357 sounds fine. You'll have no problem with ammo availability or variety from 110 to 180 grain loads, and you can shoot away with cheap 38 Special ammo for practice. You are most likely to run into vermin & predators of the 2 legged variety which the 357 mag shines at dealing with. If you lived in big bear country then i'd lean towards the 41 mag and deal with the ammo availability problem.
