The Good, the Bad and the Ugly.

Well not really but dang that jist sounds like a proper subject fer a post on this forum.  :-D

Been calling fer a couple days to see if my EMF Dakota handguns and Hartford 92 rifle were in yet from EMF. Was told nope again yesterday even tho from what I was told by EMF they really should have arrived the day before. So today I jist went up to check fer myself and to pick up the Stoeger Upland 20 ga. SXS shotgun. When I got there Steve again told me nope they hadn't come in.

Well after a few choice words about what them folks at EMF had told me and what I'd have to do next he asked me again what was I expecting. I told him one more time a pair of 4-3/4" Dakotas in .45 Colt and a Hartford 92 with 20" octagon barrel and color cased receiver. Steve got a kinda funny look on his face and said ya know they did come in. I could tell by the sound of that and the look on his face sumpin wuzn't right with the world.

I said don't tell me you sold them! He had a kinda sheepish grin on his face when he said well I did sell the rifle! #%(*)&*#@% I said you DID WHAT?    He said well the invoice was just marked to him and he does have an open account with them and since it didn't have my name on the invoice he assumed it was a shipment he had ordered. He had put the revolvers out in the case for sale and the rifle out on the rack. Some guy walked in this morning after he put them out and bought the rifle.

So on the phone to Gary at EMF to explain what had happened and to ask for shipment of another rifle pronto. He explained to Steve that the price wasn't gonna be what was on the invoice as that was a special writer's discount price. Steve just nodded his head and said ship it anyway it was his mistake.

So I got the pair of EMF Dakota revolvers both are .45 Colt with the 4-3/4" barrel and I have my Stoeger Upland 20 ga. SXS and the rifle should arrive either tomorrow or Saturday. Well maybe but no later than Monday at least.

The new Shootin Carts Mule cart came today in the big brown truck while I was out getting the other stuff rounded up. So I got to listen to Mrs. GB and Phil grumble about how much trouble it was to get it to the living room and how heavy it was.    :)  I've not got the wheels on and looked it over. Workmanship is excellent. Suffered a wee bit of shipping damage but ain't gonna be a big deal. How I have no idea as Jimmy had a ton of foam in that box and the box didn't appear to have taken more than normal abuse.  :) Won't affect use and should be simple to fix anyway.

Big Ed of San Pedro Saddlery has posted and said my leather is on the way. Should be here I'm thinking by the weekend so I should be able to be trying my quick draw routine    before the end of week end I'm thinking.

We're getting closer and so is March 2 when I head out for the first shoot with Holiday and the rowdy bunch of North Alabama Irregulars.  :-D Er maybe that's Regulators.

Picked up the replacement rifle today.

Ain't technology great? Yesterday not 24 hours before I picked that rifle up today I was here in Bama and the rifle was in CA. One phone call and today me and it was in my Bronco less than 24 hours later headed to my house.

Back when the Win. Model 92 came out a pard living as far outta town as me would have taken three hours or more to bring it home even it it had been in stock at the local store.

Oh well now I've got my pair of Dakotas, the Model 92 and my shotgun all in hand. Jist waiting on the leather from Big Ed. Have cart from Jimmy and ready to shoot.
