Shocking scandal !!! 270 Win is closer to 7mm than 7mm mag!!

Converting the diameter of a 270 bullet (.277) to millimeters I get 7.0358mm.  A "7mm" bullet of diameter .284" converts to 7.2135mm.

Bullets are made to groove diameter 7mm would be the lands.
