I finally got my new barrel yesterday for my encore.  I had the custom shop make me a 257 ackley.  I loaded up some 257 last night to fire form. I am looking forward to forming them tomorrow night and loading up some stuff to shoot this weekend. I will keep you posted

Bubba, If yours shoots as well as mine I think you'll be very pleased. Got around .5" groups with the fireform loads.Haven't got to sit down at the bench with it since then but may get to go this weekend also. Mike

I like the Serria 87 gn. bullet for groundhogs in this round. The Serria 75 gn. bullets are real nice too. Good round for varmint and deer.

well I finally got out tonight to fire form some brass. I used up some powders I had sitting around just to get them used up. I used 117 grain Hornady bullets cuz I had them for my 25-06. Anyway I sighted it and got the new scope close. When I ended up shooting the 50 I loaded I had a real good group mid target.  I cant wait to load a real load now for the ackley and see what it will do

Finally got the 257 to range today. Tried two different bullets, Sierra 117 gr Pro-hunters and Sierra 90 gr HPBT. The 117's did the best with a max load of H4831. 3 3-shot groups avg. .610". But the best I could get out of the 90 HPBT was .990" with most going over an inch.. The 117's were seated all the way to the lands. The 90's were to short to reach the lands so this might be difference. Mike
